It is not often that a niche musical landscape captures the imagination and attention around the world, but Tunisia may be the next big thing!! Wael B is that nation’s newest talent.

Born Wael Berraies, the soon-to-be 25-year-old is no stranger to his art and passion, having learnt guitar and drums at a young age, heavily influenced by progressive metal and other genres. Learning all he could from organic instrumentation, the young musical addict quickly developed a new love – electronic music.

In less than a year, Wael B would sign his first single, ”Ready For Summer”, to Sweetleaf Recordings, quickly gaining praises following its August 5, 2009 release. That same month, Wael B would join DeepSound Records by earning the second chapter of the prestigious DeepSound Academy series, as Volume 2 features the young talent with his guitar-laced ”Caminada” as well as ”My Mind”.

The best is yet to come for Wael B as DeepSound also commisioned the multi-talented rising star for a remix of Matt Lorentzen’s ”Garden of Eden”, while Morgan King’s Accidental Music saw the raw talent in the dynamo by quickly asking the rising star for a remix of the 1991 Soundsource classic, ”Take Me Up”. Wael B will be a name to watch for a very long time…

The first meeting with music for me took place 13 years ago. when I was 5, I had the piano at home, and I was visiting music school, learning how to play the piano.
It had been continued for only 1 year, then I gave it up.

In 2002 I began visiting music school again, on the classic guitar class. I have successfully finished it 2 years ago. As for electronic music, since early childhood, I was a big fan of “Scooter”. I also loved to listen to 90s dance radiostations.

In 2001, I began to listen to trance music. As I remember, the first artist was “Slyder”. I started to create my own music on my computer in 2005. All that time, I was gathering an experience, and I worked in different styles, from hardcore to IDM.

Last 2 years, I try to apply my experience in Trance/House. I always try to find perfect, unique sound. I hope that my goal is not far.

Martial White

Martial White started off as a teenager on his musical journey; at that time he wanted to become a rock guitar legend! Later on he picked up the drums and even the bass and got down to recording his first demos on a 4-track cassette recorder.

Having been a member of several bands gave him the opportunity to explore and draw inspiration from an extensive palette of musical styles, ranging from metal to funk, and from pop to salsa.

Around the year 2005 MW got interested in producing electronic music – house broadly speaking, but with scents of techno, progressive, minimal and electro.
The first productions were actually created in an early version of Ableton Live and intended for live sets, that MW and his good old friend Carl Key, started playing during gigs at clubs under the alias Destination 01. However, having to constantly carry around, plug and unplug 2 keyboards, a guitar, a bass, an FX board, mikes, audio and midi hardware and the computer running Live, soon became a very tiring exercise. After several months of live touring, the partners in crime decided it was time to move to spinning and traded the live setup for the decks.

At this point they also started remixing for other artists and created the highly acclaimed Remix-U parties in Lausanne. MW’s productions skillfully blend acoustic sounds and digitally generated ones and strive to keep an evolving rhythmic backbone. Throughout the years, his sound has gotten more distinctive and his tracks have received positive feedback from big players in the scene. His DJ sets as well as his production remain very eclectic, as he is a firm believer that beauty lies in the ear of the beholder and cannot be simply confined to a style tag.

Martial and Carlo have recently started collaborating again and some of their most recent productions will be released on Elektrax Progressive. They are also creating a brand new live set and should start touring again towards this years’ end. MW currently holds several residencies in Geneva and Lausanne.

Carl Key

Carl Key is a music composer and DJ of Italian and Spanish origin who currently lives in Switzerland. A born musician, Carl first discovers music very early, learning to play the accordion at the age of six. Later he turns to the piano and guitar, obtains a music conservatory diploma and gradually becomes more and more interested in composition.

In 2005, together with Martial White he creates Destination 01, an innovative electronic music duo. Destination 01 produces their first electro-house album and set out to perform live concerts in different clubs around Switzerland. Several songs of their first album are aired on the radio. At this time Carl Key is writing and producing new songs and playing sets in many different clubs.

He joins Map Dance Records, Mr. Mike’s house label with whom he has released three exciting tracks: Another Girl, Love Home and That’s your Destiny. At the same time, he produces a more progressive sound and his first release in that style is Play that Song for Me, released on Gaga Records.

2009 is the year of obsessive and powerful sounding productions… The first tune that reflected this shift in sound was Beat of Life, a brand new track inspired by his recent stay in Miami during the WMC.

2009 is also the beginning of a new era of co-production with his spiritual brother Martial White. They’ve been talking for a long time about this project and they finally started to work together again this year. The results came immediately and they are to release their two jointly-produced tracks: Monologue and Flight of the Phoenix on Elektrax Progressive.

Carl Key is also the host and creator of a podcast called Inside my House, available on the iTunes Store. Every month he mixes a 60 minutes DJ-set with his last selection of new tracks. These DJ-sets are freely available for download.

Eggz&Bacon began to create music with Apple computers and Garage Band at the age of 18. After several years it was time to step up his production skills and he fell in love with Ableton Live , then bought his first midi keyboard (M-Audio O2).

Eggz&Bacon had discovered Dj’ing through a friend while he was a student in Rennes (capital of Brittany). He was skilled enough to score a residence at a bar called Flore Café in 2006/2007. From this time on Eggz&Bacon has earned DJ gigs all over Brittany, where he plays latest music and also tests out his brand new creations.

His musical style can be best described as Progressive House with a dash of Minimal and some Electro, influenced by the likes of Da fresh, Hernan Cattaneo, Deadmau5, Gui Borrato, Butch, Mark Broom, D. Ramirez, Mark Knight.

Belgian duo DJ Miss Ka-rine & Axel G (a.k.a. Carine Bamps and Axel Gadeyne) represents a girl/boy get-together of one very formidable Belgian progressive-house
DJ with an outstanding veteran techno DJ/producer.

DJ Miss Ka-rine regularly spins in the best clubs in Belgium and abroad, and always offers up explosive sets that are as melodic in nature as they are rich in atmosphere.

In league with Axel G since 2006, they’ve combined knowledge and canny know-how to create productions and offer a nuanced musical realm in which they are constantly seeking to uncover best forms of dance music.

It’s for this reason that their productions can be so widely diverse, as the music they create constantly goes through an evolutionary process that’s mesmerizing.
