Review

The 1st release for March 2010 on Elektrax Progressive sees the release of Electro Vibes 1 – a Various Artist Compilation.

The compilation opens with Anjay’s remix of Dale Baldwin’s Dirty Groover – An electronic take on deep prog house, this remix features the production techniques that has left Anjay very much in demand at the moment. Classic.

The 2nd track comes from Israel’s Stereo Underground, with the Very High Mix of Texas Holdem, a track that is so deep and dark, it is the reason why Stereo Underground is considered one of the pioneers of driving tech house music internationally at the moment.

DJ Code comes in on track #3 with his original track; Gate. Featuring percussive stabs and an atmosphere to die for, Code brings on the funk once again with this one. Quality production that blends nicely into the next track, Cumbre De Patagonia from France’s export who is enjoying gigs in South America at the moment – Wally Stryk.

Cumbre De Patagonia is a straight up tech mix that will definitely inspire and move the dancefloor massive with its four-by-four progressive feel. A must have for all fans of good tech house music.

Straight into track #5 is Australia’s Winston & Yoddy with their original track; Funkaine, an electro monster that will keep the dancefloor burning. Also a good opener for the next track from Ukarine’s hottest export, Hot Noizes.

This time around, Dale Baldwin is on remix duties for Hot Noizes’ track; Call Me, with the original having been released a few months ago, this is a nice addition to the slew of remixes from the man of big basslines – Dale Baldwin. Nuff said.

Coming in at track #7 is a monster of an electro prog house track from the Serbian outfit called TRYB. Amazing drive and arrangement permeates this remix from Squareexcess, making this a must have track for the peak time sets. Many interesting things happening on this remix for sure.

Bringing it down a notch into deeper tech territory is France’s Eggz&Bacon’s Bypass. A dubby, melodic track which takes the listener on a journey, this is one track you would not want to bypass.

From Belgium comes Axel G with a beautiful number called Blue Panda, and with this release again – Axel shows us again why he is hot property in the international market with many bookings around the world.

The last track on the compilation comes in the form of a remix from Dale Baldwin, for Wally Stryk’s huge track – Buenos Aires At Night. Once again, Dale flexes his remix muscles with this massive remix – Leaving a trails of big basslines and tuff beats in this Various Artists compilation.

The 35th release from Elektrax Progressive comes in the form of a nicely packaged EP thats sure to go down well with fans of deep, tech progressive house.

From the heart of Romania comes DJ Topo & LMK with their deep tribal offering ‘Singer Traditional’, with remixes from Bobby Deep taking a deep, tech-house approach on the first remix.

The second remix comes in stronger and harder, with CJ Art taking the track to a deeper progressive territory. Coming in on #3 on remix duties, is Enrique Echd with his tribal rework that is brimming with quality influences.

Remix #4 comes from Glender, this time, offering a percussive, tech-house inspired rework, yet maintaining the original effects and congo samples. The last remix on this superbly put-together EP comes from Andy Notalez, with his dark twisted, tribal approach that features a dubby bassline and a massive synth stab.

‘Singer Traditional’ is one of the reasons why we love doing the work we do on Elektrax Progressive. Inspirational.

Review

The 34th release from Australia’s pioneering Progressive House label; Elektrax Progressive sees the debut of Russian newcomer Kvazaroff on the label with his ‘Twilight EP’.

The EP consists of 3 deep but funky, melodic but driving progressive house tracks – aimed at both the avid house listener and for the dancefloor massive.

‘Twilight’ opens the EP – showcasing Kvazaroff’s ability to play out both the bright as well as dark melodies in a very groovy mix that takes the listener into aural heaven – with sprinklings of white noises and reversed samples to make this a true original track from this rising Russian producer.

The second track, ‘The Freedom Is Out Here’ is an ethereal trip into the realms of tech-trance and ambient progressive house. Featuring twisted synthwork, a groovy bassline, strong pads & techy percussions – This track shows the other side of this rising producers’ personality – light, groovy and full of quality.

‘Incredible Stability’ rounds the EP off – Showing us that Kvazaroff is equally at ease making groovy chilled out house tracks and dancefloor destroyers as he lays out a big break with chunky electro stabs and big room synths. Dynamic.

From Israel comes tech-progressive house stalwart Stereo Underground again – This time, with his Revive EP as release #33 on Elektrax Progressive.

‘Spectacular‘, the 2nd track brings the EP straight into the Stereo Underground style we all love – Dark, fast and filled with chunky, driving percussions. A very playable mix and definitely a killer track for all DJ sets.

Going into harder progressive territory – ‘Breath Control‘ provides the goods. Featuring bouncy arppegiators and a massive bassline, this track builds with ease yet maintains a tech-dub groove thats great for keeping the dancefloor alive and pumping.

Review

For it’s 32nd release, Elektrax Progressive brings to the table : Lithuanian newcomer Vygantas Grudikis aka Moonsky and his ‘Rousing EP’.

The EP opens with the title track ‘Rousing’ – A deep tech take on melodic progressive house that’ll easily put you into the groove. ‘Rousing’ is a forward thinking track and one that is a pleasure to both listen to, and play in the early sets. This one is a show stealer!

Second track, ‘Just You’ is pure Moonsky at work – Laced with confident, big room synth-work, a generous helping of arpeggiators, sweeps & effects that will keep both the listener and the dance floor massive guessing and on their toes waiting for the next big drop. Classic!

The Gantas Remix of ‘Rousing’ brings on a more electronic and edgier feel to the table – Where the original mix of Rousing could be termed as more ‘organic’, the Gantas Remix is definitely more ‘electronic’. Featuring additional effect work, vocal stabs and even a clock-ticking-sample! – This mix gives a nice late-night / after-hours feel that works well for the mid-to-late sets.

The 2nd remix on the EP comes from the Maltese production duo called K1nk. Debuting on Elektrax Progressive with their remix of ‘Rousing’, this remix features lush, jazzy chords, a new guitar hook and K1nk’s trademark dirty effects – A universal track that will definitely work well both for the early hours as well as for the late sets.

Review

The 31st release from Australian based powerhouse label Elektrax Progressive sees Tunisian newcomer Wael B take the center stage with his Waves Of Fantasy EP.

The EP opens with the original mix, a strong entry by this 25 year old who already has releases under Deepsound Records. The original is full of quality progressive influences, featuring quirky effects and powerful synth work with melodic layers that will please all fans of good peak-time progressive music.

On the remix side, the Guitar Mix delivers a deeper tech rework, featuring guitars and a massive breakdown while still maintaining the energy with big electro stabs and Wael B’s trademark quirky effects.

The last remix comes from Greece’s MJ Motta, who is no stranger to the international progressive house scene having releases on 220V Recordings and Tronic B7 Records. On his remix, MJ goes for a big room tribal influenced groove, making his remix, what we love to call at Elektrax Progressive – Strong!

Flight of the Phoenix EP features 2 original tracks from Switzerland based producers Martial White and Carl Key plus one track by the former and a remix by Nicky C.

Groovy rhythmic patterns and subtle harmonies characterize their latest collaboration work. The bass line creates a solid ground above which ethereal sounds evolve telling a story and conveying a sense of motion, thus making this EP a must have in any DJ’s arsenal.

African Spirit has more of a tribal electro and ethnic feel, while Monologue is more tech-house oriented, with subtle vocal interventions.

The title track, Flight of the Phoenix takes you on a ride through an elaborate sonic landscape, simultaneously creating a very rhythmic and melodic atmosphere.

On the remix of Flight of the Phoenix, Nicky C delivers his trademark progressive-house style with elegant production and classy touches of melodic dream trance.

Israeli producer Stereo Underground shares his upbeat sounds into Elektrax Progressive for the Mini LP entitled Snooze covering wide areas of electronic music. This 7 track Mini LP is a collection of Stereo Underground’s previously unreleased progressive material such as Find Your Frequency, Side By Side, Changes, If God Had Wings and his famous set closer Weekends.

Track one Snooze consists of acidic sounds to get you wide awake with minimal percussion with a goa influence behind it. Taste of Low Frequency once again has twisted sounds with a trance vibe to it, giving way for Find Your Frequency which gets the EP going with a cruisy ambient driven sound.

Adding strength to the mini LP is Side by Side, which has a progressive trance style of stance to it, with the ability to get people moving. Changes and If God Had Wings are the next few tracks which are more mellow and rather chilled melodic tracks by the Israeli, similar sounds to that of progressive house pioneer Sasha. Topping off an epic release with Weekends, the sounds are surely going to add rhythm and flow to every music lover.

Born during Breton summer nights, Eggz&Bacon has imagined an atmospheric univers, drawing its inspiration from the roots of progressive house. Powerful melodies served by skilled synthesis sounds, a zest of electro, a pop recollection, this is a French touch – by Eggz&Bacon.

Abyssal is an amazing trip to the deepest electronic sounds, dominated by submarine chords.

ByPass features a minimalistic melody in a crumbling synthetic environment.

Back Home distils a very specific atmosphere with a changing, nearly disturbing voice.

Clouds may be the most powerful song of the EP, with an ear-catching beat melting with a liquid synthesizer, drowning a prophetic voice.

Ricochet is like an echo of Clouds, featuring an infinite striking sound and powerful bass and beats.
