Japan’s best unkept secret over the past 18 months has been the phenomenal DJ Warp, also known as Takashi Watanabe – a producer with whom our Hypnotic Room imprint has had a symbiotic relationship that just gets better with age, and early this year Takashi has even become the labels A&R.

The man creates the funkiest, deepest, most suave tech-house in any part of the Pacific rim (and beyond), and it’s our absolute pleasure – especially for Hypnotic Room release #50 – to be able here to present a cross-section of his greatest smash dancefloor hits and sizzling techno party numbers…stuff that will, quite simply, leave you overawed by the man’s skill with an array of rack-mounted machines and software.

IF? have spent the past 12 months putting out a rash of somewhat eclectic but never less than scintillating releases from Luke’s Anger, Dasha Rush, Wyndell Long, Little Nobody, Son Of Zev, DJ Fodder, Takashi Watanabe (DJ Warp), Alone Together, Enclave, Koda, Dave Tarrida, Ben Pest, Donk Boys, Toshiyuki Yasuda and others – with great feedback arising every now and then from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Claude Young, Orlando Voorn, Jerome Hill, Ken Ishii, Anthony Shakir and Steve Poindexter.

Compiled by DJ Hi-Shock and IF? label boss Andrez Bergen, ‘Iffy Bizness Vol. 2′ follows straight on from the hugely successful first compilation released last year, and explores the IF? label’s wonderful slower techno moments, the infectious tech-house they’ve slipped through, and some asides into intelligent glitch-minimalism that we actually dig – a whole lot.

Sizemoreism debutes on Hypnotic Room with 3 fully space flavored tracks with a distinct taste of the baltic sea and the pine woods of northern Sweden. The tracks are fusion between techno and house with a spacious dubby vibe to them.

The best way to describe the tracks is that a Swedish guy that never visited Detroit is trying to paint his imaginary musical picture of Detroit on a IKEA bought canvas.

The “Manifesto” track is the most clubby while “Ghetto Showers” & “Tears Of A Thug” being more laid back & funky. The EP starts of more driven and energetic to slowly step down to a more lush melodic finish.

To finish off we get 2 bonus remixes, with Takashi Watanabe and Eric Cadillac taking charge. They both deliver high quality tech-house versions of the title track “Manifesto”.

Hypnotic Room presents the first in their Hypnotic Sessions compilation series.
