Hideo began to learn piano at the age of six, and later got hold of an electric guitar and synthesizer in junior high school, after which he learned composition and added a sequencer to his growing studio set-up. In his late teens, he also started to DJ, just as he was entering university in Tokyo; the records spun included a wide range such as house, techno, soul, and trance.
After he went on to grad school, Hideo desisted with his musical moonlighting in order to polish off his degree, but promptly returned to the world of music thereafter. He’s now producing minimal techno, influenced by the likes of Maurizio and Richie Hawtin, and disco-electro influenced by bossanova and Soulwax.
