Takashi Watanabe – In The Still Of The Night EP
Cat Number: hroom022
Release Date: 22 Dec 2008
featuring: Takashi Watanabe
In the Still of the Night is exactly that – a seductively mellow, trippy moment in time and place where Takashi detaches himself from a dance floor focus, and instead trains his machine-based music, with its more musical keys and chords, into the cerebral terrain someone like Jeff Mills or Steve Law (Zen Paradox) might explore. Which doesn’t make this any less funky; it’s a mind-f**k that would devastate the dance floor at any peak-time. is exactly that – a seductively mellow, trippy moment in time and place where Takashi detaches himself from a dance floor focus, and instead trains his machine-based music, with its more musical keys and chords, into the cerebral terrain someone like Jeff Mills or Steve Law (Zen Paradox) might explore. Protection is a smooth, deep tech-house beauty of the highest caliber. This quality track is full of funk and Detroit techno flavors making it ideal for any club situation.
The final track is Airwave, with nice filtered out keys, a low slung kick, the clap drenched in reverb and the hi-hats bought to the front. Full of minimalistic Detroit influences. Very very smooth!
Styles: Deep Tech House, Detroit Techno
