House of Japan, a 4 track release showcasing some of the land of the rising sun’s finest House/Tech-House talents is one for every DJ’s crate who likes to take the listener on a journey through dance floor dynamics, and lets face it, which DJ doesn’t?

a1) DJ Wada’s ‘El Cafe’ first takes us to a jazzy place where sax riffs play and delay in a sea of wash, all driven by some intricate tech-house percussion.

a2) Takashi Watanabe’s ‘Jealousy’ takes us deep into emotion. Deep filtered and delayed synths chime out over fantastic house beats with just a splash of that machine like funk we know and love from this artist.

b1) DJ Miku’s ‘Cheap words of the world’ moves the dynamic to a more conflicting place where dark beats pulsate under refreshing chords before being pulled away to make room for layers of noise and then onto lush vocals.

b2) Orange Society’s ‘Lets spend time together’ is a futuristic take on classic House sounds. All the ingredients are there, the chords, the progression, the vocals, but they have all been brought forward through choice of sound and production to beyond today.

The idea was to bring together quality from a common source and, it blatantly worked.
